Steele's Knowe

As it was quite bright in Edinburgh we decided to go up the Marilyn of Steele's Knowe in Glen Devon. This plan looked to have a flaw as we entered fog just after we crossed into Fife, but occasional glimpses of clear sky gave us hope. As it turned out we needn’t have worried, and just after Yetts o’ Muckhart we emerged from the fog. We decided to go up the track to the wind farm, and this was certainly easy underfoot so we gained height and distance quickly. We could see the fog in all the glens to the south and west, with much better low ground visibility to the east. We saw no one until the trig point, when a guy on a bike appeared, followed by another who had been having his lunch just north of the top. The views were excellent and the turbines didn’t spoil the view of the highlands. The blip is taken near the summit with turbine 5, and the view south to the Pentlands where we had been yesterday.
