This Isn't Blackpool

Not everyone needs to put on a show,
you know. This isn’t Blackpool.
There is a solitary Santa in a window
and there might be a tree with a few
lights and a bauble or two.
But out of sight. Not on display
for any old passer-by to see.
Anyway, they close their B&B
over winter. At this time of year
they prefer a low-key lifestyle.
Come summer the place will be
heaving. That’s the time
for some razzmatazz. Not Christmas.
