Treats!

Luckily we have an Italian bakery in the next town over where I can get fresh Pannetone!  It's a Christmas bread with bits of chocolate and citrus peel that I find irresistible, toasted, and with a generous helping of butter. It all goes with my wake up mug of coffee. And please don't forget to turn on the Christmas tree lights, just to make everything cozy on these dark mornings. Add one or two puzzles and I'm set for a couple hours.

Here the breads are carefully skewered and cooling upside down on big racks in the kitchen. When properly ready, they'll be dusted in powdered sugar and wrapped in cellophane, see Extra.
