Skimmer

Holy moly - sunshine!! A gorgeous day. Son#1 and Himself departed in darkness at 7am with the intention of climbing Carrauntoohil - only the highest mountain in Ireland! It's in Kerry, part of the wondrously named Macgillycuddy's Reeks! A long drive then a humungeous climb. We last heard from them at 2.30ish when they had decided there wasn't enough time to make it to the summit but it looked incredible though they were already knackered.
Son#2 and I decided to have a slightly more leisurely day - actually we did the Christmas food shopping in the new Bantry Lidl (such good value), had a wander around the market, did a bit of cleaning back home, and he washed the polytunnel.
What bliss to have a bit of light after 6 days of mizzle. We went down to the sea for the sunset and a bit of skimming and watched the two fishing boats come in.
Right, better go and prepare something hearty for the explorers.
