Love Actually

I've been having a problem with one of my lenses and all the main L stores I spoke to went something like:

*Sharp intake of breath* "Ooh, that'll be a back to Germany job..."

Anyway, we needed to pop down to London and to see our dear friends who are dealing with significant health issues in their immediate family.

It was J who said (in the nicest possible way): "You numpty! Why not check the store whose advert you always drool over at the back of B+W Photography every month. You thick or summat?"

It was close to where we needed to be so in we popped. What a lovely emporium. Shedloads of classic kit of every description and run by experienced enthusiasts ( as opposed to corporate sales pushers).

Left the lens and they promised they'd ring me as soon as technician had chance to look. Call came a couple of hours later: "Hello Mr H, your lens is ready for collection."

Went back, picked it up and spent about half an hour (J went and read the paper...) with Derek (the owner I think) who is even as much of an enthusiast as Stebbers. And that's saying summat :)

He even let me use his personal and very old lens [Extra]. *Sigh*

Oh, and no charge at all. What's not for a Yorkshireman to love, actually?!
