SPECIAL GUEST

Daughter #1 came to lunch today with her partner, and son (my grandson Ben - see extra). I haven't actually seen her for about four years (apart from Skype) and she's off to live in Oz next month. It was so good to see them, I just wish it had been for longer. She's a gifted linguist and brought me her old Sanskrit grammar which she knew I'd appreciate. Ben (19) arrived with a massive hangover which had lasted for the whole six hour journey, and which he still had when they left four hours later. I kept sympathising but his mum told me he didn't deserve sympathy! He does remind me of his granddad, though (beloved C).
