Wassailing

I met Ann out from the Blue Cross shop and we went to Susie's at the third RSC theatre, appropriately called The Other Place, for a tea and coffee. Its a while since we've been there, although it's only down the road from the Swan Theatre where we normally go on a Saturday. They have a large sculpture of a tree made from scrap wood from the RSC scenery department on display, inspired by the English pagan tradition of Apple Tree Wassailing where people would gather to sing carols and drink the health of the trees in early January, either the 5th, Twelfth Night, or the 17th, 'Old Twelvey Night'. After coffee we went to Bella for a spot of lunch then I met Roz at The Garrick for a pint of Abbot Reserve.
