Examination, made easy

Maybe it's the fact I broken my own neck and back a few years ago, but I seem to be obsessed with anything to do with the Spinal column.

When I saw this medical model whilst attending a Physiotherapy session at one of the various hospitals I attend I couldn't resist taking this picture.

During the last 5 years since my accident, it has often been my experience that Drs can focus purely on that particular part of the body which they specialise in to the exclusion of the 'whole patient' or the rest of the body. This can often be the case when patients have complex medical histories or conditions.

In this picture, the Spinal column can be seen in splendid isolation from the rest of the body in which it is contained. This would be something similar to the view and focus of the Spinal Surgeon.
