Hungry

As we walked into the city centre along the river we stopped to watch the very large assemblage of adult and adolescent swans, always alert for someone who might feed them.

The shopping precinct felt almost as crowded as this bit of river - the world and his mother were out buying last minute presents. We spent most of our time in Waterstone's where they were having problems with their fire alarm which was emitting a skull-splitting shriek and seemed to resist every attempt to turn it off!
