Merry Christmas

Tess & I have spent most of the day cooking: salmon terrine, mustard & honey roast gammon, olive scones, tapenade, the stuffing and gravy for the turkey.

In between we managed a walk for some fresh air and some worrying about Sophie; Kate & Joel had to book an emergency appointment for her at the hospital this afternoon as they thought she might have picked up a urinary infection; fortunately, it wasn't that serious and the doctor has prescribed some medicine to sort out her stomach and bladder problems. As always, the staff were wonderful; thank goodness for the NHS.

Anyway, it seemed appropriate to wish you all a Merry Christmas, especially all those of you already enjoying Christmas Day in the Southern Hemisphere, with the annual blip of Tess's Christmas cake.

May you have a joyous and peaceful day!
