Two generation Christmas

This is the first time that Christmas has been a two generation affair for a long time.  I think the last time may well have been in the 1980s.  My grandmother died in 1985 and my first nephew was born in 1987.  He is thirty on Friday this week.  He has chosen to spend Christmas and his thirtieth birthday in New York, so he is not here.  Nephew number 2 is residing at her majesty's pleasure at the moment.  So sad. He phoned tonight. In his cell. So he is not here.  I know he will come out.  They will both come back.  I know.  We are fortunate in that.  Anyway, we decided to attempt a group selfie of the oldies!  Turkey was good, but we couldn't manage Christmas Pudding.  Yesterday's trifle came into its own!  Nice.  Then some presents, then a what's app call from New York, then Strictly.  Then our visitors went home. Of course we have far too much food as no one wanted anything this evening.  We will be able to freeze some of it tomorrow and will give other stuff away.  Much of it will last until we are back.  We have a thirtieth birthday celebration to go to!

The extra is of Dad, still smiling when eating the trifle!

I hope you have all had a good day doing whatever you wanted to do...
