Boxing Day

This morning we woke to rain but not enough to help the garden.  The weka thought it needed another bath and this time it shyly stood among the flowers to preen.  I liked it framed by cosmos and asparagus fronds.
This evening there has been thunder and lightning and real rain.  Yipee.
