May your days be merry and bright ....

.... and may all your Boxing Days be white.

Snow on the hills this morning - bright, clear and sunny. A welcome change from yesterday’s rain. The wind and the temperature have both dropped. It’s much more seasonal.

We had a lovely day yesterday with our younger son catering magnificently for eight of us. Food appeared throughout the day with plenty of fizz (except for the designated driver needless to say). We had a proper traditional Christmas dinner with the exception of Key lime pie instead of Christmas pudding and the addition of a Polish fish dish. An unexpected bonus of being elsewhere for Christmas dinner means that the house doesn’t look like a bomb site today and I can find the chocolates with ease. I reckon the last time we weren’t responsible for Christmas dinner was 1984.

Today we’re reviving a family tradition which has been in abeyance for a few years and making a Boxing Day trip to the cinema. Paddington 2 here we come. Looking forward to the warm fuzzy.

For now it’s just Cameraman and me having a civilised coffee and opening a few more gifts. Santa has been very good to us.

Hoping you’re all enjoying the day however you choose to spend it.
