The Edge of the Wold

Boxing Day Bay

The view into Morecambe Bay from Jack Scout. It's been a bright and dry day, a refreshing change after a week or more of fog, rain and grey clouds. The tide was rising quickly, and there were small rafts of ducks on the water. The nearest were mallards, I'm guessing the further ones were wigeons, but there was no giveaway whistling. I think the two figures were photographing birds rather than the setting sun. Am I right in thinking that this spot in the Bay is becoming a bit more popular with photographers?  The last few times I have been, there have been tripod men in residence when I arrived.

When it became clear that the sun would be lost in cloud, we made a dash for a cup of coffee at Wolf House. It was our first visit since June, and it is in new hands. It's still friendly, though the cake couldn't match the peerless standards of the previous people. Not that we needed any cake after the indulgence of yesterday.
