Tuesday at the Tractor

Climbed the stairs to my Winter spot...
to perhaps get a birdie post.
To see which bird would show up,
to see who would eat the most.

There were lots of sparrows and jays,
and then a quick flash of red.
I thought it was a cardinal,
but got this (wood) 'pecker instead.

According to my internet search...
(which you know doth never fail.)
I would bet my last paycheck...
that this beauty is a fe-male.
