Mementos

I always give Baby Jesus a dreidel for Christmas.
The Christmas tree was made for me 25 years ago by a Greenwich Village friend.
The white shell was brought to me from Papua New Guinea by a San Francisco friend (who arrived from the other side of the Pond half a century ago, intending to spend a year).
The grey image is of the reflecting pool at MoMA, shot by a California photographer friend.
Baby Jesus may have been born in Bethlehem, but I met him in Palo Alto.
So there are lots of memories in this little spot on my mantel.
