The Glebe

Tradition in the Church of Scotland allocated land to the parish minister to help sustain his family by keeping a cow or grazing the ministers horse.

Over the years many ‘Glebes’ have been sold-off.

In this case ownership of the Glebe is the name of the townspeople and to the relief of many building development is strictly off the current-agenda
