Delightful Decay

Went for a walk at The Hermitage in Perthshire, admiring the rushing River Braan and the force of the water over the falls by Ossian's Folly. Had planned to use one of these pictures, but changed my mind and blipped this instead, as it really appealed to me.

This leaf had fallen into an old tree which had been brought down in a gale and is rotting away nicely by the side of the river. I liked the colours and it sparkled like gold in the sunshine - but not for long. The heavens opened and we got thoroughly soaked!

The drive home was through flooded roads which had been dry on the way out - the rain was so torrential! Hope it's better where you are:)
