Grapevine

Rose Crescent, Cambridge.

Rose Crescent is named after and includes, the surviving yard of the former 'Rose Tavern.' It runs between Trinity Street and Market Hill, and some market stalls are visible in this picture. It is home to some exclusive little shops, and MacDonalds, which stands where a nice steak house used to be. They won planning permission as the shop use was still food. However, the planners insisted there would be no huge sign and just a discreet one. Although it is still an interesting place to shop, I think it had much more character when I was a youngster and would meet friends in the pub and then go for a steak. Maybe I'm just being nostalgic.
