Plaza Vasco Quiroga Decorations

An army of men and women have been hard at work decorating the main plaza in Pátzcuaro ever since our arrival. They have erected a giant 15 meter tall tree and adorned it with reed decorations from around the region. They built a big gazebo and stage to house a manger. They have created a half dozen scenes throughout the park utilizing large 3 meter statues like the one shown here. It was hard to convey a sense of size until this cowboy and his family walked in front of her, then it became instantly apparent (and the blip for the day).
