Final school

This was Mary's last school visit on this trip, the eleventh!
It is Mchanguatua 2, with 1895 children, 20 teachers and 4 permanent classrooms, some temporary rough wooden, well ventilates shacks and many classes outdoors.
To call this a school would be the worst possible abuse and misuse of the English language, To call this education would be funny if it were not so serious BUT good teachers can perform miracles and I feel that Mary saw many miracles.
It was windy, the school is in a dust bowl without walls or enclosures, in fact nothing to stop the sand storm whizzing right through, but some unique teachers just taught on, undeterred. The children had come so ,they had to give of their best.
These are people are underpaid, when they are paid just deliver beyond the call of duty, un-thanked and un-noticed and certainly not respected

This class where Mary visited to support, had 319 students and two teachers.
They all sat on the floor, each having brought a little container of water to keep the dust down.
Strange as it may seem, teachers who have been part of our teachers training courses for the past three years are employing many of the strategies managing and coping against all the odds
