Festival of Light @ Longleat
An enjoyable day spent at Longleat Adventure & Safari park and hard to pick just one photo from the day so there's a few extras.
It’s the second year we’ve been to their Festival of Light which they hold every Christmas. With it being bitterly cold and the lights not being turned on till dusk we headed for the safari drive through first. On the drive through there were plenty of animals to see, although some were in their enclosures rather than roaming free. The highlights were the lions and tigers who weren’t playing shy with the passing traffic and spent a lot of the time walking and standing in front of it so much so the rangers had to step in to move them on so the tail back of traffic could move on through the enclosure. Gave us great views of these majestic animals.
Once we reached the house and grounds we had time to explore the attractions in the main square before dusk fell and the lights were switched on. The grounds came alive with amazing Chinese lantern displays bringing to life the magic of fairytales. Drawing inspiration from classic tales, we were transported into a world of fantasy - a land where mermaids swim, princesses live, firebirds fly and dragons roar! And in the central courtyard a huge Christmas tree put on a wonderful light display.
