Silvester

Posting this on 30th December 2017

Silvester is not the guy with the beard. That is Walter, a friend and 100% Bavarian icon of the Western riding scene in Bavaria. Perhaps not always his finesse in the saddle but his contribution to the general scene from the earliest days.

On a Blip 5 days before I have said a bit more about him and his partner Jeanette (dark haired) and the other two, Gabi and Sepp also a partnership, Gabi also well known in the Bavarian horse world especially, at least back then, with Criollo South American goucho horses.

I am the drunk idiot with an empty glass. It probably didn't have a drop of alcohol in it all evening as I get drunk just from the fumes of an open bottle.

Blip was taken at our house we had from 1995 to 2001 in Grosskitzighofen near Landsberg am Lech. About half way from where we now live when driving to Munich. First house we had with own horses in stables alongside. Up until then they had been in "commercial" boarding stables what the Brits call Livery stables if I remember correctly.

PS Silvester is the German word for New Years Eve and I learnt today also in France. Silvester was a Pope who died on 31st December 335. Faithless heaten pagans who had been in his company tended to die of suffocation from stuck fish bones, so be warned don't eat fish tomorrow evening.
