Legodude

Kendal, home of the Mint Cake.

Mrs. Legodude and I took a trip from Sedbergh (in Cumbria) where we were staying with my Grandparents, into nearby Kendal on the very infrequent bus service. If you miss the last bus at 16.25 that's you stranded for the day! Blip was taken standing on along the river Kent you can see Stramongate Bridge, which was constructed in its present form in 1794 but contains parts of an even earlier bridge. In the background, on the hill, are the ruins of Kendal Castle. This has been derelict since the 16th century when the Parr family (as in Catherine Parr) abandoned it. Legend has it that Catherine Parr was born there although this is not true.
