Drowning my sorrows

Post-match pint (Crafty's Incognito) in the Kingston Arms, Cambridge, after enduring another Crewe defeat at the Abbey Stadium.

It was a spontaneous decision to head to Cambridge. Martin H, a long-time friend from Nantwich, now living in the US but visiting the UK said he was going, so I decided to do the same. I met up with a couple of other Alex Exiles among the 182 who made the trip.

Latecomers would have missed the first goal, conceded by Crewe after around 40 seconds, with a second added soon after. Crewe were lucky to go in 2-1 down at half-time (it could easily have been 6-1). Second half performance was a bit better, with some goalmouth scrambles in front of us to keep us excited. Ended up a 3-1 defeat after ex-Crewe loanee Uche Ikpeazu scored the final goal.
