Devastation

Wakened up this morning to a devastated garden fence, hedge, fruit trees and a bit of wall as someone hit it with a car at 1.27am. We caught it on the CCTV security cameras.
It’s a mess and significant work to repair.
Contact with the police helped the tragic story unfold that gets it into perspective. A young man with significant mental health issues stole his parents Car and ran amock. It ended with the crash into our fence/garden. Thankfully he was not hurt in the accident but has been arrested by the police. Our devastated fence cannot begin to compare with the devastation of the young man and his family. It fills me with sadness. I hope the troubled boy can get the help he needs and that his family can be supported. The pain the police officer felt for the boy was palpable as he relayed the ‘story’.
For us...... we slept right through it!
