The strong gales of earlier in the day gave way to a starry evening with the bright moon illuminating the large numbers of geese and swans on the Esk. Then as  two ‘birds’ and a samba band led the procession from the Brunton Hall in Musselburgh alongside the river the flocks of geese joined in honking loudly while the swans just watched in silence.  Hundreds of people followed to watch the twenty minute firework display with the background of the twinkling lights of Edinburgh and Fife across the water.
It was a suitable time for families to enjoy the dying hours of 2017.
Meanwhile like many blippers I hope that 2018 is a happy and healthy time for you.
