Grandeur of Pleistocene Volcanos

Over the New Years holiday, I visited an old friend who has moved from Los Angeles to Bend in the high desert of central Oregon. It is about a 3 and 1/2 hour drive from the Portland area. 

On the approach to Bend, one passes several volcanoes that are part of Oregon Cascade mountain chain. From left to right: Broken Top, The Three Sisters, and Mount Washington.

It was a delightful visit with a dear friend in beautiful surroundings and a time for rest, rejuvenation and renewal.
