A taste of Scotland

Today I post a food blip. This is a "Clootie Dumpling" and is something that is particularly Scottish. My granny used to make them for family birthdays and I've carried on this tradition.

It's brilliant to eat on its own as a cake, with custard as a sweet or with bacon and eggs, fried, as a savoury dish.

It is a bugger of a thing to make - you need to boil it for four hours and the kitchen end up a riot as you go.

However, it is worth it - the taste is sublime!
