Rodents rule

Starry night

A long, long day in the office was made far more palatable by a curry. We watched the rain fall from our window seat.

Lunchtime was a fine respite from work. A colleague and I visited the Degas: Drawn in Colour exhibition at The National Gallery. Surprisingly, it’s free! I’ve recently worked on a Degas book, so it was nice to see some of the images I’d read about. One of my favourites there was the racehorses in the rain. Those pastel rain dashes really make it.

Garden notes: a couple of chaps were hammering together a new shed in the garden behind, so the wildlife was scarce at breakfast. A couple of blue tits braved the sunflower hearts. Juno was most put out by the workmen invading his territory. He glared at them from the windowsill.
