Dressed To Impress

The Imazu lighthouse, the landmark of our town, adorned with the traditional shimekazari hung above doors over the New Year period in Japan.

The Imazu lighthouse was originally built in 1810 by the president of the Ozeki sake company to ensure the safety of ships arriving at Imazu harbour where a large sake factory still operates today. The lighthouse was restored to its original form in 1984.
