Cottage Ruins

... or possibly a hotel. This area, near the township of Kurow, in the Waitaki District was once a busy village around the 1870s, with a post office, a store, and a coal mine. A school was established here in 1889. The remains of the hotel (which this possibly is) was built in 1865. The hotel was held up by bush rangers not long after it opened, where they stole gold. The robbers hid the gold, and legend says it's still there, somewhere. It's all very exciting!

The extra photos are, an historic cottage in Arrowtown, and people in Queenstown.

Anyway, back home now, and ready for bed.
