The Fourth 'R'

When it comes to environmental awareness we are well-primed - "Reduce, Re-use, Recycle" is our mantra. Of course, "Repair" is our first thought, but this is not always possible. But, thanks to a chance remark in a hardware shop, we were delighted to discover something else that is.  

Seeking to replace our broken ceramic salt mill we discovered that even these can be repaired. On Thursday we took ours to the shop, yesterday they telephoned to say that it was now in full working order and today we collected it. They had simply replaced the mechanism with one from a damaged mill from the same manufacturer, and, even better, they did not charge. How's that for service!
