The Pool

I went down to the pool today to take a few shots with a promotional shot in mind.
It's hard, as I would have liked a shot of twenty or so swimmers having fun.
It would have been easy enough to find, but I would probably have been roundly abused.

Blackheath Pool was originally funded and built by the community in the Depression, and was, for many years unfenced and free.
It's undergone changes over the years, but is still very beautiful, sitting at the base of a natural amphitheatre ringed by ancient rhodos and many specimen plantings.
As I was leaving this group was one of many arriving.

Our council has decided that two of the three pools, the toddler and children's pool should be filled in and replaced with sprinkler pads.
One of the extras shows a couple of friends collecting signatures for a petition in the hope that council will be dissuaded from their short sighted plan.
The other shows the pool itself.

Forgot to mention that at 7.30pm it's still 36' in Blackheath.
Over 47' earlier in Sydney.
Phew!
