Morning After

Not sure how long the children were allowed to stay up to celebrate Paul's birthday but this morning a bit of a lie in and slow start. They are in my study on a makeshift bed. Looks rather cosy.

Kate never got to know her paternal Gran who died 13 months before her birth. Antoinette would have been an amazing Gran. However (step) Gran Gwen was always a superb substitute and spent most of the time when we were together fussing over them. She had never had children of her own.

I had known Gwen as a child in the 1950's and back then the Parker house - Gwen and her then husband Jack - was always open to all the children from the camp to visit. She had a knack with children.
