Goosanders

What a glorious day.
Blue sky and sun.
OK maybe it was only 5C max. but who cares.
Just wrap up well and head out for a walk.
Well we weren’t the only ones.
Lots of families out this afternoon, but we went this morning and avoided the crowds.

We visited one of our favourite local nature reserves at Rodley.
The lakes were mainly frozen, but someone had broken the ice in many places so the birds could swim and fish.

I took lots of photos, as usual, but these goosanders won the blip of the day.
They were the last birds we saw. Swimming on the river, which was quite high and running fast.
