Triumphant Apples

This morning we went to the 43rd annual Blackmoor Apple Tasting Day. We left later than we planned and got snarled up in slow moving traffic on the country lanes but managed to arrive in time to try a wide variety of very delicious apples. My favourite was there - the Egremont Russet - but there were also some varieties I've not tried before such as Junami and Pinova.

We had to leave early as we were booked to guide a dormouse nut hunting walk in the afternoon. On the way out I took the opportunity to blip the bonnet of this blue Triumph TR3 parked near us in the car park. Annoying we were stuck behind more rude/slow moving traffic and only just made it back to the village for the nut hunt.

Our nut hunters enjoyed themselves and even found loads of dormouse nibbled nuts and even the sun stayed out.

On returning to the house I then painted some dilute PVA onto the old plaster and brickwork behind the skirting boards we removed to stabilise the wall before we put the skirting boards back on.

All things considered a busy and productive day. It's just a shame we weren't able to spend more time at the apple tasting day - and we didn't have enough time for a bike ride as it was glorious all day long!
