Opportunist

The Opportunist
knows this
is not a chance
to be missed.

Out comes the woolly hat,
the windproof zip-up jacket
and, like a cat,
he finds himself a sunny spot.

Even when the wind bites
these bitterly cold, bright
days, feel like
an unearned reward,

a bonus which those of us,
given the opportunity to,
take a chance on,
and hit the jackpot.
