This afternoon...

... on a visit to Harlow Carr Gardens, the weather appeared to have deteriorated from the frosty brightness of the morning. This was going to be a stroll around the gardens, not a bird photo session. So I only took along the Panasonic TZ90 in my pocket, leaving the heavier kit in the car boot.

A quick visit to the bird hide was, I suppose, inevitable. But the surprise was seeing this Great Spotted Woodpecker visiting the bird feeder. Never seen one before - so it had to be snapped, even with less than ideal kit.
