Loch Slapin

After a convivial evening of games, haggis and a few drinks, 2018 dawned bright and cool so 5 of us decided to go up Beinn na Caillich and its smaller tops, Beinn Dearg Mhor and Beinn Dearg Bheag from the hut at Torrin. We went up Beinn Dearg Bheag first in sunny and cool weather with some snow towards the top. The views were really good of the mainland and also Bla Bheinn or Blaven as its more commonly known. We had lunch on the col before Beinn Dearg Mhor and then plodded up on good snow. As we arrived on the top of the hill it began to snow heavily so S, M and I decided to go back whilst B and S went on to Beinn na Caillich. As we got back towards the col it stopped and the views were wonderful to the south and south west. However the best light was on the way up and the blip is looking towards Rum.

Yesterday’s blip.
