The Weight (Take a Load off Annie, Fanny)

Fantastic day yesterday and as this photo was taken well after midnight it counts for today's blip. Taken in difficult lighting conditions (some red stage lighting and a couple of standard lamps) using flash from across the room so as not to disturb the musicians or atmosphere.
The day started with a prance around the common in brilliant sunshine and turning autumn colours, ice cream and Calum's girls. This merged into tidying the house for friends visiting for supper before going out to see Mike Scott. One friend was ill and as the other one arrived we got sucked into Felix Bumgarden jumping out of a balloon. A couple of adrenaline rushes as the internet dropped in and out, and after some very tasty Cajun chicken and rather good Pinot Grigio, not to mention breaking the sound barrier, we went to the Sub Rooms. (I don't know how to do a link but I'm sure Woodpeckers and CleanSteve have blipped this example of propriety in Stroud.)
We arrived to a very full ballroom and took seats in the back row. Mike Scott read from his (rather good) autobiography and then invited Steve Wickham on to the stage and played to an enthusiastic audience. I took some long distance photos for the record. We buzzed back up the hill for a nightcap and discovered a dozen musicians unpacking kit and getting into the groove.
Not long after Mike and Steve walked in and joined in the session. The story goes that Mike had asked a couple of musicians from Nailsworth to organise a session for after the gig and they had suggested my local and arranged for the other musicians to join in.
Ben is an accomplished local musician with a band and a number of collectives under his belt who organises some excellent musical events. He joined in and this was him singing The Weight.
Great hangover today. First in a very long time.
PS Sorry about the psychedelic violin bow in foreground.
