Dressed for the weather

Up very early feeling slightly shabby. And reeking of smoke. Forgot what it was like to drink in bars that allow smoking.

Quick shower then down on the underground to the Reichstag where I’d booked a tour of the dome at 9.30am. It’s one of the best views of the city. On a clear day. Unfortunately today was a real pea-souper, you could hardly see the edge of the roof. Amazing structure though.

From there we walked to the Brandenburg Gate and then on to the Memorial For The Murdered Jews Of Europe.

After that we needed a coffee and a wee break.

Then we pushed on to Museum Island. Three museums ticked off the list, including the Pergamon which was jaw dropping, and we also had a climb to the top of the Berlin Dome.

Starting to wilt at this point we popped in for pasta and pizza at a local place.

Then meandered back to Alexanderplatz, jumped on the U2 and headed back to the apartment. Ruby grabbed a few hours kip, I lay in bed listening to the piano teacher above my head before giving in and dragging Ruby out for some dinner at Best Friends. Exhausted and happy.
