Douglas DC3 Dakota

The DC-3 is a plane from the American aircraft factory Douglas Aircraft Company. From 1935, 10,655 copies were built, plus 4,937 units in license. The device is even used for commercial flights in the 21st century. In addition, various flying clubs have airworthy DC-3.

The RAF called the device Dakota; the Americans spoke of Gooney Bird. In the American armed forces various types were used: C-47 (Skytrain), C-49, C-50, C-52, C-53 (Skytrooper), C-68, C-84, C-117; the aircraft was designated as R4D in the US Navy.
