Lismore

Whilst historic events were taking place in Edinburgh I was fulfilling a long standing commitment to my last small island constituency surgery of the summer.

I left home before 6.30am, listened to all the radio build up to today's agreements on the radio as I drove through a frosty and misty Argyll, flew to Tiree via Coll ( courtesy of Hebridean Airways and great pilot Julie Angel) in perfect conditions , though slightly delayed by a patch of convection fog sitting over Oban Airport, did a full surgery with Cllr Mary Jean Devon, had lunch with former councillor Iain Gillies and his wife in their beautifully situated house by a long curving beach, on the north of the island facing Rum and Eigg, flew back taking lots of pictures (including this one of the Island of Lismore and the mountains of Lorne & Lochaber behind) , dropped Mary Jean in Oban where I had a couple of things to do, and then drove home listening to the radio reports of what had taken place in Edinburgh.

A good day therefore on all counts!

And game on......
