Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

By NannaK

Fiona Friday

Picked Fiona up from school today and headed for the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) at the south end of Lake Union to have a snack in the cafe and to see the big doll house on display (the Hammons mansion that was at the old museum but this is the first time it’s been exhibited at the new one.) and the
Al Smith photography exhibit,  65 years of photographs of the African American community in the Central district in Seattle, .  It’s so well done and the documentary photos are wonderful :    the jazz scene, the businesses , the neighborhoods, the people, his life, and how to develop a photo in a darkroom.    The blip is from the “club”section  complete with tables and dance floor…Fiona is learning the Swing Step to Quincy Jones Orchestra.   So many well known people.. so much fabulous dancing we will most likely not see like this again.    Very fun. Much looking at photos.   And appropriate for Martin Luther King weekend...

Then home to games and drawings and we even got help with putting away the Christmas tree and creche!

extras... more faces (sometimes I get these too, directed at the camera), more music, more good old photos. She wore the bear sleep mask to school today as headband.
