A Thousand a Day

Fifty, not out!

My good friend, and the man who persuaded me to go along to my first parkrun, Malcolm, about to complete his 50th run.
Today was the 400th parkrun at Newcastle, and Malcolm has been there practically since it began. He has taken so long to get to his 50th run, as for more than 320 shifts he has volunteered as the marshal who sees all of the runners safely out, off the moor, onto the path on Grandstand Road.
A real gentleman, and a Newcastle parkrun legend.

Congratulations, Mal!
