The Story Boat, Lyme Regis

The Story Boat – a “miniature maritime memories museum” created from one of the last surviving Dorset lerret boats, named ‘Vera’, built in 1923.
LYME Regis boat builder Gail McGarva worked in collaboration with wheelwrights Mike Rowland & Son of Colyton to create the Story Boat. Since building a daughterboat to ‘Vera’ in 2010, Gail had a vision for the retired motherboat, to give her a new lease of life on land as a mobile oral history recording studio and exhibition space.
