Stickle Tarn

The Lake District does bleak very well and today was very bleak. We parked in Elterwater and crossed the common to pick up the path that goes over Hangingstile Crag. We followed the ridge all the way over Blea Rigg to Stickle Tarn which was still partially frozen. Descended Stickle Ghyll and returned to Elterwater via the valley and Chapel Stile. The Lakes are very quiet at the moment and until we got to the tarn I think we had only seen one other person.
