Old Romanno Bridge

A bit breezy on the Sunday morning bike ride. A bit of a struggle on the climb up from Auchendinny to Howgate. It was a relief to get to the top, although i had to pedal downhill to Leadburn. Fortunately, the Moffat road was quite sheltered from the wind, either by terrain or vegetation. So It didn't take long to do the next 10km to Romannobridge.

I stop to take photo of Old Romanno Bridge which was built in 1774. It spans the Lyne Water, which heads south from here to join the River Tweed at Lyne Station.

This is my turning point, I head up to West Linton, and then I am wind assisted north to Penicuik and home (56.8km, 35.3miles)

The afternoon was spent getting twin 1 a new phone and 4g. His old phone was not really capable of playing many of the new games. Afterwards it was down to Newington for charity shop browsing and coffee, before heading to the supermarket to obtain items not delivered by Sainsburys (A fire in the lades loo at the store that does our delivery meant most of the things we wanted were marked "Not Available").

A nice Sunday evening. Shame I have work tomorrow.
