Upper Quinault - Ancient Forests

Well I'm back on the OP again for a week of field work. Found some time today to visit some of the ancient trees left after the area was settled. This is the largest know western red cedar in North America measuring over 19ft in diameter. Wow. Thing is though, trees like this where somewhat common before the PacNW was settled and tree like this had a huge impact on our river systems, hence what we now call engineered logjams.
